Who am I?
My name is Floortje - "my friends call me Floor" - and have lived in Amsterdam, the Netherlands my entire life. My interests in general are art, make-up, writing, photography and fashion. These will be the main themes on my blog, especially make-up. Currently I'm studying art history at the University of Amsterdam where I am in my second year.
What is this blog about?
As I said, it is mostly a beautyblog. My passion for makeup has grown over the years. Since the beginning of this year, I've found a new interest in indie makeup companies. It's a part of the cosmetics industries that has not been that explored yet, at least in the blogging aspect - for some, there are hardly any reviews to be found. That's where I come in!
It doesn't mean that if a product is indie that it won't perform as well as store-bought things. Quite the contrary actually, I have found products that work even better. I'm always trying new things and I love to share the gems I discover on here. I will still review some 'mainstream' products, but the focus is on indie.
This is also a cruelty free blog. I don't feel like animals should suffer for our vanity, so I made the pledge years ago to not buy from companies that test on animals.
When it comes to cosmetics and skincare, I make sure to take a good look at the ingredients. I want to try to raise more awareness that some ingredients in mainstream products can in fact be harmful, but are fairly easy to avoid. On my blog, you'll find products that won't do you any harm. Also, I will inform you what ingredients are best to be avoided.
Summed up: are you interested in cruelty free cosmetics that are new to you and won't cause you any harm? You, my friend, have come to the right place!
